Standing on Ceremony: The Gay Marriage Plays will close on December 18 at off-Broadway's Minetta Lane Theatre. The show, which opened November 13, will have played 7 preview performances and 41 regular performances at the time of closing.
Conceived by Brian Shnipper and directed by Stuart Ross, Standing on Ceremony: The Gay Marriage Plays features short plays from writers including Mo Gaffney, Jordan Harrison, Jeffrey Hatcher, Moises Kaufman, Joe Keenan, Neil LaBute, Wendy MacLeod, Jose Rivera, Paul Rudnick and Doug Wright.
The cast, which the production planned to rotate as the run continued, currently features Mark Consuelos, Beth Leavel, Richard Thomas, Harriet Harris, Polly Draper and Craig Bierko.
The production partnered with Freedom to Marry to donate a portion of all ticket sales to the non-profit and other organizations promoting marriage equality.
